38TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION

Monday, January 20, 2025
IT STARTS WITH ME

As our nation, and communities grow more divisive, fueled by hateful speech, and as the triple threats of militarism (war), poverty, and racism impact us locally and globally, the committee feels now is a good time for our fellow community members to examine how individuals can be cultural climate shifters and peacemakers—for the collective good.

Please join us in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 20, 2025. This year, the committee’s program theme is "It Starts with Me: Shifting the Cultural Climate through the Study and Practice of Kingian Nonviolence."

  • 1:00 PM Municipal Program at Attleboro City Hall, 77 Park Street, Attleboro, MA. Featuring presentations by local and state representatives and musical guests.

  • 2:00 PM Interfaith Service at Centenary United Methodist Church, 15 Sanford Street, Attleboro, MA. Featuring local clergy, musicians, and keynote presentation by violence reduction expert, Rev. Jeffrey Brown, Co-Founder, My City at Peace, Boston, Massachusetts.

This program is supported in part with grants from the Attleboro Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency; and the Rotary Foundation of Attleboro.
