"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." ~The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Committee of Greater Attleboro plans and produces public ceremonies in observance of the King Holiday, which is celebrated annually on the third Monday in January. A municipal service, hosted in Attleboro City Hall, gives local leaders an opportunity to speak publicly on issues of race and racism. The annual Interfaith service is typically hosted by a local church, and features speakers, clergy, musicians, artists, and student of color scholarship recipients. Our annual offertory collection is donated to a local charity. We also support educational and cultural events that promote understanding and respect of racial differences and racial equality within the community.

Services during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 and 2022 were offered virtually. We expect and plan to return to in-person services on January 16, 2023, at Attleboro City Hall and Second Congregational Church in Attleboro center. We hope you will join us!
