36TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION

Unblock the Vote:
Lifting Barriers to Access

Monday, January 16, 2023

Thank you to those who attended, led, hosted, and supported our 2023 services. It was a great joy to return to our in-person format after "going virtual" for two years.

Description:

Equal access to voting is essential to a vibrant democracy, an issue Dr. King fought hard to advance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Nearly 60 years later, voter suppression tactics continue to stymy elections. What can we do to lift barriers to access and unblock the vote? Come explore this important topic as we celebrate and remember The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on his 94th birthday. Includes presentations by local representatives, poets, musicians, and a keynote address by Tanisha Sullivan, Esq., president, NAACP Boston.
